Girlz Choice

Girlz Choice is a ten-week school-based life skills program supporting secondary school girls. Girls participate on a voluntary basis and may be recommended to the program by the school guidance or Student Success teams. A youth driven program, Girlz Choice participants identify the issues they want to discuss. These often include relationships, drugs and alcohol, body image, sex, recognizing signs of abuse, family, stress and mental wellbeing. Sessions are held during class time. Together with a YWCA facilitator they explore personal goals, choices, alternative paths and opportunities.

We offer the Girlz Choice programs at four Muskoka area secondary schools.
