A masterful storyteller, Tremonti delivers talks that touch the human spirit and captivate audiences. Listeners from around the world were privileged to listen to Anna Maria Tremonti’s compelling interviews each & every day on Canada’s most popular radio program, “The Current” for almost 2 decades. She has the gift of tackling everything from the politics of the day, to the changes that affect our society, to the stories of individuals whose personal journeys and traumas affect us all. Without a doubt, every dedicated listener has been consistently moved and inspired by Anna Maria’s genuine approach to interviewing.
After 17 years at the helm and as a two-time Gemini Award winner, now Anna Maria is taking a leap into the world of digital communication with a new way of telling stories and sharing ideas, through original podcasts that will illuminate, challenge and surprise. She launched Welcome to Paradise a very personal podcast which showed that even though she’s travelled to conflict zones, none were as immediately threatening as what she experienced at home. It’s ‘a profoundly intimate portrait of a powerful woman confronting the source of tremendous pain and trauma and, remarkably, freeing herself from a life-long sense of shame.’
Kelly Jones is a powerful, Muskoka-based public speaker and workshop facilitator who shares her unique perspective on the journey many women face to build an independent life for themselves, free from abuse and fear.
As a Coordinator of YWCA Muskoka's poverty reduction programs, Kelly's personal experience growing up in generational poverty gives her a unique ability to bridge gaps with people of low-income and the community resources needed to help transform lives.
To date, Kelly has successfully facilitated Bridges out of Poverty workshops for hundreds of community leaders across The District of Muskoka, including local politicians, OPP, health professionals, business owners and service clubs such as RAMP and various others. Kelly’s focus is to help others believe in their value and purpose and to help the community seek value in human connection through the intentional friendships Circles Muskoka creates.
Sarah Haefling started her own business; Elevate Podcast Co. to help businesses launch their own successful podcasts. She helps launch and grow podcasts to connect with their audience, build authority, and amplify their business through the power of storytelling. After starting her own top-charting podcast, 'Made it Happen,' she saw firsthand the power that podcasting can have. Made it Happen was created to highlight the voices of female entrepreneurs and inspire those thinking of starting their own business.
Since launching Elevate in January 2021, Sarah has won the top pitch award at the 'Take Your Shot' competition for young entrepreneurs, first place in the VentureWomen Pitch Competition, Rookie of the Year Award at The Atelier 25 Awards, and FoundersBeta's ‘Top Female Founders to Watch in 2022.’ She has been a moderator for numerous speaking events, featured on various podcasts, a Canadian Female Entrepreneur Ambassador for the NetworkHER Event, and a Founders Week Ambassador in 2021.
Funds raised at She Talks Muskoka go right back into the community through YWCA Muskoka programs that lift up women, youth and families and create positive change in their lives. YWCA Muskoka works to prevent gender-based violence; help lift people out of poverty; and create a safe space for youth of all genders to build confidence and healthy relationships.
By sponsoring this event, you are standing alongside women in Muskoka. You are supporting those who are most vulnerable. You are showing the community that when you lift up women and girls, you lift up the entire community.
