Supporting youth this summer and throughout the school year
Reaching youth during their most formative years is absolutely critical when it comes to promoting mental health and wellbeing and preventing gender-based violence.
During the month of June, make a donation to help young people develop confidence, understand healthy relationships, foster critical thinking skills and build positive peer support through YWCA Muskoka youth programs.
In addition to the programs we run during the school year, YWCA Muskoka also runs Girlz Unplugged as a summer day camp in the communities of Gravenhurst, Bracebridge and Huntsville for girls aged 9 to 14.
Youth explore self-care, body image, gender stereotypes, being media and internet savvy, and understand healthy relationships through crafts, role play, discussions, laughs and fun.
The Girlz Unplugged program was created locally right here in Muskoka and is one of the longest running girl-centred programs in Canada. It has won an International award and the curriculum has been used across the country. Girlz Unplugged celebrates 30 years in 2024, and is officially a trademarked program!
