Willamina van der Vecht

Willamina studied Political Science and Visual Arts at the University of Victoria on traditional territories of the Songhees and Esquimalt peoples. She previously worked with the houseless community in Victoria, British Columbia, at an art studio for adults with developmental disabilities, and as an education assistant in Muskoka, Ontario. 

She is passionate about working with youth to help foster resiliency, self confidence, authenticity, and self expression. As a person of European descent and as a settler in Canada, she is very grateful to be living in Muskoka, Ontario on the traditional territories of the Anishinaabe people and recognizes that it is a privilege to be able to enjoy the woods and lakes that have been stewarded by indigenous peoples for thousands of years.
